Who we are:
We're an ambitious team of researchers, builders, and entrepreneurs with many years of experience in the crypto space and are passionate about digital assets. With a new product roadmap, we are adding several new products to our portfolio, beyond on-chain data - we are becoming a more comprehensive go-to crypto platform for various needs.

Glassnode is a leading market intelligence platform for on-chain and derivatives data. We offer the most comprehensive library of advanced on-chain metrics and insights for Bitcoin, Ethereum and hundreds of other digital assets, bringing data intelligence to the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.

With an emphasis on user-centric interfaces, we aim to deliver intelligible, actionable, and unique insights from blockchain data and beyond, helping investors make educated decisions in an overly emotional and irrational market, and equipping blockchain teams with valuable insights on their projects and tokens.

DevOps Engineer for Glassnode Studio (m/f/d). Remote. An employment contract or consultancy is possible.

About the role:
Help us take our highly distributed data-intensive platform to the next level.

As the key member of the DevOps team, you'll have the chance to take responsibility for assuring that our data-heavy infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and performant to serve the best possible experience to our customers.

You'll have the opportunity to solve real-world problems and exciting technical challenges within a distributed microservices platform that processes large amounts of data from multiple sources to create intelligible metrics and insights for the crypto industry.

Help us build and improve a platform that enables our engineering teams to autonomously develop, test, deploy, and operate their stack, while directly reporting to our VP of Engineering.

Join us remotely, you can be located anywhere around the CET time zone, as our work is 100% online. The position requires a full-time engagement; both a Contract and an Employment Agreement are possible.

What you will do:
  • Take responsibility for our highly distributed, microservice-based system running on GKE.
  • Work closely with technical leads and the engineering team to define and implement the infrastructure roadmap.
  • Work with infrastructure as code by implementing best practices for resource access, provisioning, and maintenance.
  • Help build data-intensive pipelines to deliver metrics in real-time.
  • Expand observability of our current system.
  • Maintain and improve our CI/CD following best practices.
  • Ensure availability of both production and staging environments.
  • Apply best practices for disaster recovery and alerting.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual deployment and drive zero-touch automation.
What you bring to the table:
  • 5+ years of working experience with one of the following cloud vendors: GCP (preferred), AWS or Azure.
  • Extensive practical experience with container management and orchestration, in particular Kubernetes, Docker, containers, etc.
  • Experienced with scripting in a modern programming language, preferably Golang, Python, and/or Terraform.
  • Experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc)
  • Experience with distributed systems (Pub/Sub, Message Brokers, Secrets Vaults, etc.)
  • Experience with setting up web applications in the cloud (ingresses, cert-manager, helm charts, etc.)
  • Practical experience with CI/CD.
  • Practical experience with 24/7 production systems, their observability, monitoring, tracing and alerting.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting/debugging systems and root-cause analysis.
\_\_Nice-to-have: \_\_\* Practical experience with GCP (at least one major project)

  • Google Cloud Certification.
  • Experience with BigQuery or other columnar databases like Clickhouse or Influxdb.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms like Kibana or Grafana.
  • Experience with cost analysis and optimisations.
  • Exposure and/or experience with concepts: disaster recovery, InfoSec, OSI model, DevSecOps
What we offer:
  • A modern technical stack with an emphasis on quality
  • Flexibility to organise your work and hours the way you like, our remote-first setup enables this for everyone
  • Join a young, self-funded and already profitable company in a future-proof market
  • Freedom to own your decisions and experiment, we need driven experts who help us figure out what to do, not for us to point at what needs to be done
  • Be one of the main contributors to building a company with its unique culture in the cutting-edge tech space
  • No approval loops or unnecessary processes, quick decision-making and full ownership of your function
  • We are working on a kick-ass, meaningful benefits package, something truly useful and empowering - you will help us figure out what we'd need to stand out as the workplace of the future, we are open to any ideas
  • Frequent company offsites, we love remote but love to have fun together too - this year we went to Lisbon for a week, we're also coming to Switzerland for our Xmas party and more adventures are coming
